I see that I get a healthy number of page views around here, and that I'm not just posting for my own benefit... so, for the benefit of those who read, you may be interested in this year's KvR Developer Challenge...

I've entered again with a new tool PanGloss, which splits the incoming audio into 6 or 9 channels depending on a parameter, and each of these new channels can be panned and 'gained' then re-assembled back into a stereo pair... You can do apparent stereo widening, a good shot a central vocal removal, you can use host automation to enliven a pad or mix... It's like Betabugs Moneo on steroids..

Speaking of Betabugs, I also wrote the Develloper Challenge Duckling Compressor with mully's superb graphic of a rubber duck being squished smile.gif

'Where, oh where can I find these things?' I hear you cry! 'here,' I retort...

I'll be updating the website soon, and intend to put some more stuff in the labs.

Happy playing smile.gif

Hi Duncan. Just wanna say a "thanks, man" for PanGloss - and hey, you deserve a little praise on your own forum (so I registered)! Nice job with your entry in the DC.

You've got my vote. cool.gif

I think it's a fab little plug!

... and I know it's a freebie Duncan, but is there a chance you could have a look at the compatibility with Alien Connection's ReValver Mk II? I can't get the GUI of PanGloss to show up when using it as a vst in ReValver - it would be a beautiful thing to be able to make use of it that way...

What say ye? tongue.gif

Thanks.

I can have a look - can't guarantee a time scale at the mo, but I'll certainly see. tbh I didn't know it could host!

Congrats on Duckling placing 15th...

I still think PanGloss should've been 1st. mad.gif

Very kind of you to say! I'm happy with the results. there were (and still are) alot of very good entries, and its been a good contest. I'm very pleased for rurik to have won - he's a champ, and it's fantastic that he's got some of the recognition he deserves!
